British Airways has recently announced its latest service that offers free executive taxi rides to and from Heathrow airport for its business and first class passengers.
For their initial dry run, BA will provide the service on a three-month trial period to make sure that the quality of the rides are safe and convenient for their valued passengers. Passengers are encouraged to take advantage of this first time service to its premium passengers including Club World and First Travelers members. The free service is expected to boost flight reservations as well as improve the quality of airline services.
As an answer to BA’s new offer, rival airline providers such as Virgin Atlantic are also planning to give its premium passengers free chauffeur rides to its hub at Heathrow starting next week. Furthermore, other carriers including Emirates are also contemplating on putting up a similar complimentary service to attract more passengers. However, a statement released by BA official confirms that the three-month trial period will not be available to Club Europe passengers and passengers travelling on discounted fares.
Due to continuous inquiries about the said service, BA has updated its Twitter page with more news and a statement that says the company will provide more information in the coming days. The news also states that they will provide complimentary black cabs and executive taxi rides for premium customers to speed their ground journey to and from London Heathrow Terminal 5. It also states that Executive Club passengers will first need to register in order to avail the free service, and must validate new bookings made before the three-month trial run. In addition, passengers travelling to further destinations such as Bangkok, Singapore and Sydney are not eligible for the free service.
