Honeywell, a world leader in energy efficient and innovative safety and security technology has acquired the contract to provide the incorporated structure for public address, fire safety and the voice alarm systems of Heathrow Terminal 2. The contract which is amounting to €15.5 million is actually the second deal for Honeywell after its impressive set up of the same integrated system at the Terminal 5 of Heathrow airport. With this system, a guaranteed smart and orderly evacuation method will be carried out. In case of fire, the voice alarm system’s sensitive and intelligent detection will be clearly broadcasted within the area of concern only thereby evacuations are carried out easily without creating unnecessary confusion and commotion in other safe grounds.

 

The deal also requires Honeywell to set up building surveillance and management systems and fix lighting controls for Terminal 2. Since the terminal is utilising natural light to help in concerted efforts of energy conservation, the light controls are necessary. These lighting controls are designed to keep appropriate levels of light inside the terminal and have the capacity to efficiently adjust to constant changes in weather and lighting conditions outside. On the other hand, the building surveillance system is intended to closely watch all electrical, mechanical functions and services within the terminal to be certain and definite that all equipment is working at its best. With Honeywell, nothing is left to chance especially as its business is about safety and cost efficiency.
