London Taxis to Get Chargers on the Move

9 May 2011
Vodafone is spending over £1m on ad-wrapping 500 London taxis in the British Union Jack, followed next week by branding Heathrow Express trains in the same fashion.

As part of an initiative to show-off the improvements the world's largest mobile operator has made in its London infrastructure, these special London taxi cabs will also feature in-car mobile phone charging capabilities for any brand of mobile phone, as well as the option to pay for the taxi journey by phone.  You would simply text the word "Taxi" followed by the taxi vehicle number and the fare amount (plus any tips of course) to 31255.  No additional charges or fees would be applied to passengers choosing this option.

The installation of chargers in the iconic London cabs started last week and the final will be rolled out by the end of the summer.  But even know, some of these branded cabs can be seen on our streets in the West End.
