If you've book a Heathrow taxi for an airport transfer and you're on your way to the east coast of America, do check with your airline at least 12 hours before you get in your cab to the airport.
As you will already be aware Hurricane Irene is disrupting the east coast of the US and this severe weather is disrupting travel across the entire region, including flights to and from this coast.
The above advice on contacting your airlines also applies to passengers travelling from the US to London.
